A 2.5-hectare vineyard, originally located right in the heart of Château Figeac’s gravelly plateau, Château Petit Figeac was acquired by the Manoncourt family in 2002. Definitely not a second wine and actually crafted to be a stylistic introduction to Figeac itself, Petit Figeac has been since 2005 a micro-cuvée blend coming from some of Château Figeac’s best parcels. As an ambassador, it proudly encapsulates the unique style of Figeac’s Cabernets combined with a touch of Merlot, while ensuring a silky texture thanks to a very gentle barrel ageing. Blend: 40% Cabernet Franc, 60% Merlot. Tasting notes: With its bright purple hue, it distinguishes itself by an expressive bouquet of complex aromas, including numerous fruits of blackcurrant and blackberry in particular. The varietal aromas of Cabernet and Merlot grapes are mixed with aromas such as liquorice and vanilla, which emanate from the barrel. Supple and silky on the palate, the tannins are fine grained and flavoury, and the finish is elegant, fruity and smooth.
